It isn’t easy. And we all know it, yet we must still declare it. We knew from the very beginning at the Garden. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, especially in my own flesh and blood. You said it yourself, too. But I didn’t realize the calamity of my nature until the waters kept rushing in again and again and again. I couldn’t find anything to hold onto. No one near me. Nothing beside me. Where could I find rescue in my helpless human weakness? Strength was the air above the waters. Hope was the sand on the beach. Both out of reach. The anchor possessed my very being - sinking, sinking, sinking. Strength began to fade into the deep darkness. Hope began to wash away. Weakness became overpowering. But at the last minute, you came. Somewhere, you knew. Somehow, you heard. And I knew it, too. Because even though my nature forced death, you brought life. You are a lighthouse in the night. A beautiful sight. Strength restored. Hope renewed.

It’s hard to accept. It’s hard to understand. But even though life isn’t easy. I sure can live through it with your light.
